Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic and public speaking. Feminist Frequency is a website where you can find videos and other commentary on the representation of women in the media and in popular media. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American media critic and blog writer that has received awards in her field, is an activist blogger. Feminist Frequency is an educational site for non-profit organizations that analyzes how females are represented in narratives from popular culture. She's committed to removing stereotypes of women and the way they are depicted in pop media. She also strives to bring awareness to online harassment directed at women and marginalized groups of individuals. The holder of a master's degree in social and political thought at York University Sarkeesian is also an extremely sought-after public talker. She has also delivered speeches at TEDxWomen XOXO Festival and also the United Nations' Broadband Working Group on Gender. At a young age, Sarkeesian was fascinated by questions of gender identity as well as feminist thought. As a student, in 2009, she founded her Feminist Frequency website.
