Tom Hanks-5-1024x767Hanks was reunited with Ron Howard in his next character, which was as commander and astronaut Jim Lovell in Apollo 13 (1995). The film was widely lauded by critics, as well as the performances of the entire ensemble (which comprised Kevin Bacon and Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise and Ed Harris) as well as Kathleen Quinlan. The film earned nine Academy Award nominations and won two. Hanks was the voice of Sheriff Woody in Disney/Pixar's 1995 computer-animated film Toy Story (1995).
