
Julie Ellen "Tawny", Kitaen, was an American model, actress and media celebrity. She lived from May 7, 1961, to May 7, 2021. She started her career as a television actress being featured in the TV films Malibu (1983) as well as California Girls (1985). She also starred in comedy films The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak and Bachelor Party (both 1984) and the horror film Witchboard (1986). Kitaen garnered widespread recognition for her roles in numerous heavy metal music videos, such as Ratt's "Back for More" (1984) and Whitesnake's "Still of the Night", "Is This Love" and "Here I Go Again" (all 1987).In the decade of 2000, Kitaen transitioned into appearing in reality-TV shows, including The Surreal Life (2006) and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) and "Here I Go Again," the one that focused on Kitaen's addiction issues. Kitaen was born Julie Kitaen in San Diego, California in 1961, the third child born to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) she was a housewife, and once a beauty pageant participant, and Terry Kitaen, an employee of a neon signage company. Kitaen was the daughter of a Russian-Jewish dad and an Scottish mother. [33 Kitaen was raised in the Jewish religion. She was first able to use the nickname "Tawny" when she was 12 on her own initiative. She was dyslexic as a child. This caused her to leave Mission Bay High School. Seven years later, at the age of 14she had front row access to an Peter Frampton concert at Balboa Stadium.[8She was a witness to Penny Frampton receiving VIP treatment and was inspired to emulate her.
